FREETHORPE U9s
This week played Burnt hill at home in the first winter conditions of the season. Playing against a skilful footballing side the boys were a little slow to start, and soon found themselves 2-0 down. Liam S was soon withdrawn following his sickness but found a able replacement in Ollie who played his game of the season tackerling well and passing out of defence to earn him a deserved M.O.M award. Just before half time Reece burst into life and scored a great goal to give Freethorpe hope for the second half.
Freethorpe came out after the break full of confidence. Thomas working hard as ever for the team quickly scored the equaliser after great work from Reece down the left. Aaron was again having a good game tackerling hard and passing long. Perry as usual was running, covering and prompting much of Freethorpes good play. Alex played well again mainly in a defensive midfield role he was a strong and influential presence as usual. Reece then got Freethorpe into the lead with another great solo effort. Freethorpe 4th goal came from Perry after a great flowing, passing move which was a pleasure to watch.Thomas quickly got the 5th to seal the game.Burnt Hill got a late consolation before Alex strolled through the centre and finished well for a 6-3 victory to Freethorpe.Luke in goal had a quiet game but remains one of the best keepers in the league.

Gorleston Rangers C VS. Freethorpe FC U8's 13th February 2005
Final Score (8 - 3). Kick off 1030hrs.

On a day when the weather was so cold it made you wish you were at home in front of the fire, Benjamin Cooper, Brandon Francis, Ashley Smith, Bailey Owen, Oliver Middleton, Kirby Garrett, Danny Errington, William Jennings and Ashley Howard went to Gorleston and gave 110% commitment. It was an excellent team performance even though the score line didn't reflect this but as a team you couldn't have asked for more, especially in the freezing wind and sleet showers. There was two outstanding performances by Kirby And Brandon so good it induced positive comments from the opposition. William Scored Two goals and Ashley Howard scored one.
As caretaker Manager we lost due to our weakness' but due to the commitment of the team I walked Away with a Smile and full of hope for next season.

This week played Shrublands away. The first half display was a somewhat disjointed affair with both teams struggerling to find there game. Shrublands did have the better of the half but some good defending from Ollie, Liam S and Perry combined with good goal keeping from Luke restricted Shrublands to a one goal lead at half time.
The second half saw a great improvement in Freethorpes display. From a piercing Perry pass Liam D broke through and scored from close range. Aaron, Alex and Thomas worked tirelessly for the team and tackled hard. Perry again was creating much of Freethorpe's good play with good positional sense and great passing. Luke continued to keep goal and kick long as Freethorpe got on top. The excellent M.O.M Reece then took over with a great solo run from the half way finishing well for Freethorpe to lead 2-1. Minutes from the end Reece scored the goal of the season with a thunderbolt of a shot from 30 yards for Freethorpe to win 3-1.
