freethorpe u 13s

FREETHORPE U13'S yet again this week started with only nine players, (to become ten players for the rest of the game later on), due to illness against Sole Bay. In the first half the boys battled hard and every player put in a stunning performance, Freethorpe were very unlucky to be 4-1 down at half time. What must have been "goal of the season" came from James Dowsett. In the second half the boys enthusiasm seemed much depleted and the score ended up 7-1.However well done to the boys, as constantly week after week they are short of players. This week is our last game and we are away to St Benets, kick off at 10.30 am.

THE PRESSURE TOLD AND AFTER A GOALMOUTH SCRAMBLE THE ALERT ERIN K STABBED IN FROM CLOSE RANGE FOR FREETHORPE TO TAKE THE LEAD.JESSICA H CAME ON AND CONTINUED THE GOOD WORK OF THE TEAM.A SHORT FIRST HALF SAW FREETHORPE LEAD 1-0 AT THE BREAK.

FREETHORPE U11 GIRLS

THIS WEEK PLAYED TABLE TOPPING BOHEMIANS AT HOME.WITH SICKNESS TAKING ITS TOLL FREETHORPE WERE DOWN TO 9 PLAYERS.

THE FIRST HALF SAW FREETHORPE PLAYING INTO A STIFF NORTH EAST WIND WITH DRIVING SNOW IN THEIR FACES.THE BOHS WERE IN A RAMPANT MOOD PLAYING SOME FAST MOVING FOOTBALL AND DESPITE THE EXCELLENT LIBBY B IN GOAL AND SOME DETERMINED DEFENDING FROM ELLAN P, THE EVER IMPROVING LILY B AND OLIVIA S THE BOHS SCORED 8 TIMES.THROUGHOUT THE HALF CLARE A WHO HAD HER BEST GAME OF THE SEASON TACKLED AND TRIED HARD TO STEM THE TIDE OF RED SHIRTS COMING OUT OF THE SNOW ASSISTED BY REBEKAH G IN MIDFIELD AND ERIN K UP FRONT.

THE SECOND PERIOD WAS A GREAT IMPROVEMENT.THE TEAM WERE INSPIRED BY LIBBY B IN GOAL WHO WAS PERFORMING HEROICS BETWEEN THE STICKS.MELISSA H WAS STRONG AND BRAVE IN THE TACKLE AND ISABEL S WORKED HARD IN MIDFIELD.WITH REBEKAH G AND ELLEN P SUFFERING BADLY WITH THE COLD

CONDITIONS LILY B AND CLARE A HAD THEIR LONGEST SPELLS ON THE PITCH TO DATE AND BOTH CAN BE PROUD OF THEIR DISPLAYS.ERIN K CONTINUED TO PLOUGH A LONE FURROW UP FRONT WITH LITTLE SUPPORT BUT PLAYED WELL AND HAD A COUPLE OF GOOD SHOTS ON TARGET.

BOHEMIANS ONLY MANAGED THREE MORE GOALS IN THE SECOND HALF WHICH IS TESTAMENT TO THE EFFORT AND NEVER SAY DIE ATTITUDE OF THE GIRLS.

WELL PLAYED BOHEMIANS A GREAT TEAM DISPLAY FROM A GREAT TEAM

FREETHORPE U13S

Freethorpe U13's playing Waveney B in an important relegation game were struck an early blow having yet again only ten players this week due to illness. However, despite this the boys put in a very good performance and were very unlucky to be losing 2-0 at half time. However, when luck is against you from the very start things can only get worse. In a move that led to Waveney getting a quick third, Harry was injured and we were then down to nine players. Then Louis took a nasty knock to the face and then were were down to eight players for the next fifteen minutes. All credit to the boys who kept their heads up and battled on, especially when having a goal dissallowed for offside. If they had not been quite so keen up front and kept onside we may have had a couple of goals. However with all things considered, a good hardworking team performance by all. Lets hope we can have a full team for what will be only the second time this year for the next game. We wish Harry a speedy recovery who went to hospital after the game due to his injury.
