FREETHORPE FC U13
Freethorpe U13's played and won 1-0 the title decider against Waveney B in a very close game. Freethorpe started kicking into the wind in what turned out to be a very close first half with both sides hitting the post. Ben made some great saves and Freethorpe unfortunately missed a couple of good chances. The second half was much of the same until Freethorpe won a penalty after Mark was fouled following a good run into the box. The penalty was well taken by Dan. Straight from the kick off Waveney then piled pressure on the Freethorpe goal for the following five minutes and despite three mega goalmouth scrambles Freethorpe somehow kept the ball out. After this the game went back to normal with a couple more chances at each end. All in all a good game played in the right way with a good referee and support from both sides. Freethorpe have had a very good season especially considering the small amount of players they have to choose from. They have played over half their games with the bare eleven players or less including four of those games with only ten and one with nine. Despite lack of players they have not only managed to win their league they have never lost a game all season. However, Freethorpe will not get away with lack of players next season in Division 2 and will need at least three new players to strengthen the squad.
