FREETHORPE U12 GIRLS
Gorleston Rangers V Freethorpe (under 12 girls)
Freethorpe started the game playing uphill, putting Rangers under pressure from the start but were unable to convert the early pressure into a good goal scoring chance. Rangers came closest to opening the scoring and hit a good shot just past the post, Freethorpe responded with a good effort from Megan. Rangers then took the lead slightly against the run of play with a good shot that squeezed in Isabel’s near post. Freethorpe continued to work hard with Louise covering every blade of grass and Charlotte looking assured at the back. Freethorpe came close to equalising after good work from Lauren Rebekah’s shot skimmed the outside of the post. Rangers then broke away and an almost identical move saw them increase their lead to 2-0.
Freethorpe Kicked off the second half going downhill hoping to use this to their advantage however went further behind early in the second half. Georgia and Elizabeth looked well organised at the back and with Megan once again looking strong and dominant just ahead of them the team had to withstand further pressure from Rangers. Emily returned to the fray and her effort and running created a half chance for Erin that went just wide, from the resultant goal kick Erin was unlucky to see her snap shot go just over. Rangers then killed the game off with a late goal.
A good evenly matched contest and if the girls keep working goals will come as defensively you have come on as a team.
