FREETHORPE U11 GIRLS

Freethorpe U11 Girls.

This week played Bohemians away with a bare seven players. What an effort by all the girls. The game was lost 0-10 but all the goals were scored in two 5 minute bursts by Bohemians one in each half. The remainder of the game was very even.Playing on a large pitch Elizabeth G put in her usual good display in defence well supported by the improving Lily B.Isabel S and Libby B shared the goalkeeping duties both playing well in and out of goal with there different styles.Jessica H was outstanding with some great runs and tackles and continuing to play despite a rib injury.Claire A had her best game to date with some hard running, tackerling and good passing while Rebekah G worked hard up front without reward and helped in defence when needed.

FREETHORPE U12 GIRLS

This week played Bohemians B away and lost 0-10.Bohemians deserved their victory but there was another winner on the day.A Girls football match between two Charter Standard Clubs played, officiated, managed and supported in the true spirit of the game.Special mention to Dave from Bohemians who is a top man and a credit to his club.

Early on the game looked even with Bohemians attacking and Freethorpe defending stoutly with Elizabeth G again outstanding,Georgia G using her pace to great effect and Molly D tackerling hard.
Stand in keeper Olivia S had a great game one diving save was very special.

Despite some good midfield play from M Smith, Charoltte B and Jessica H and some gallant running from Lauren S up front Bohemians gradually took control and scored 6 goals before half time.

The second half was a great improvement with Erin K and Mellisa H both having a positive effect on the game with some good closing down and passing.Bohemians were relentlous in there pressure on Freethorpe and scored 4 more goals despite a great effort from Freethorpe and never giving up.

All at the club are proud of your progress girls.Keep up the effort and great spirit.

FREETHORPE U13S

It seems we have found the promblems , its mt training ! as this weeks was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch the boys put in a much better performance. In the first half the boys battled hard against a strong wind to come in 0-0 at half time. However a bad start to the second half saw us go 3-0 down however rather than the flood gates opening as normal the boys kept going and got a goal back via a good ball from Callum finished by Dominic. The score finished 4-1 however if the boys put in this effot every week better results will come

Winkle, Unfortunately another big defeat of 14-0 for the U9's by Halesworth this week. Admittedly the team did take a good ten minutes to come alive by then it was a bit to late. Some good individual displays by D. Errington & D. Wilcox at the back. D. Wilcox was awarded player of the match great commitment for only his second game.
See you tomorrow night Kevin.

FREETHORPE U12S GIRLS

Freethorpe U12 girls V Silfield U12 girls

The game was played on a fine Sunday afternoon with a strong wind blowing from one end to the other. Silfield were only able to field six girls but looked a bigger and stronger side as the girls lined up. Silfield kicked off and immediately attacked the Freethorpe side, who did not appear to realise the game had started, before Freethorpe had got a touch on the ball they found themselves a goal down. Freethorpe then settled down and shortly after came close to getting the equaliser, Charlotte B put Megan S through she strode purposely forward towards the Silfield goal, then unleashed a powerful shot the keeper did well to parry, she was first to the rebound but once again the keeper pulled off a fine save. Silfield were quickly back threatening the Freethorpe goal and scraped the bar with a good shot and Isabel S had to be quick off her line to thwart another attack. Silfield finished off a fine passing move to go further ahead. Louise B making her debut was working tirelessly in midfield and Georgia G was once again sharp in the tackle at the back. The Silfield players showed their experience, strength and pace to score another four goals before the break the pick of which was a header from a corner kick. Freethorpe made a number of changes in the latter part of the first half and at half time keeping with their policy of giving all the girls a fair chance and kicked off the second half into a strong head wind. Silfield continued to dominate the game and with the Freethorpe girls showing them too much respect Silfield scored a further five goals. Freethorpe’s best chance came late on when Rebekah G made a strong run down the right stopped only by a last ditch tackle from Silfield, not to be out done she tried a cheeky back heel that Erin K was unlucky not to get on to. The girls should not be down hearted by this result as Silfield are one of the best sides you have come up against, the hard work being put in on the training ground will eventually payoff, everyone of the girls has improved beyond recognition and this is your first season in a very tough league.

FREETHORPE U10S

With Luke and Liam D on international duty this week, we travelled to Pakefield in the first round of the cup. As usual we got off to a slow start going down 1 - 0 in the first 5 minutes. This goal got us kick started and we peppered the Pakefield goal. Tom going close with some long range efforts. Reliable Reece got us level with a good strike. Up and running we played some of our best football to date after half time. Perry playing simple football to open Pakefield up on a few occasions. Reece added to the score 3 more times to bring his tally to 4. Ronnie got 2 more finishing his last one like a true striker. Our three boys at the back and Alex in goal kept things nice and tight with Liam s and Ollie keeping the concentration levels up to the end. Special mention for Aaron playing his best game to date earning himself joint man of the match with Reece. Final score 6 -1.
