Subject: Freethorpe Under 8's report

We were soundly beaten for the first time this season by a score of 11 - 1 and although alot of it can be contributed to the fact we had several players away on holiday etc. there were lessons to be learned from this defeat.
We need to work in training on our clearances from set pieces which probably lead to at least half of our goals conceded, and also we need to be awake from the kick off, as before in most of our games we soon conceded several early goals and were constantly chasing the game.
If you take the game as a whole the first half we allowed ourselves to be over run from poorly cleared set pieces and were loosing by 8 - 1 by halftime. In the second half we played much better and although lost the half by 3 - 0 we could have easily have scored 3 or 4 goals ourselves.
Not all was doom & gloom, and a very good debut performance by Kirby G. gives hope for the future, Danny E also ran and played well throughout, Oliver M again scored this time from a well taken free kick, but more passing will help in the future. Bailey defended well in the second half, Liam B tried hard from his subs. appearance & Ben made some good saves. No game this week and an opportunity to try out some more ideas in training.
